Off to the Beach!

Every year for more than a decade, we've spent a couple of weeks in Stinson Beach, usually coinciding with the Fourth of July. We rent the same cottage perched on the hill above the Market and have become friends with the neighbors who live in Stinson year round sharing socially distanced cocktails in the driveway with them during the height of COVID. We've also become friends with the owners of the cottage, who've generously let us leave our boogie boards in the basement and even brought the laundry I once forgot in the dryer to our house in San Francisco. We used to drive two vehicles up to the beach, but we've pared down what we bring and we make our son ride his bike over the bridge (and over Mount Tam) to leave more space in the truck.

Last year, we were in the midst of launching Thunderbolt Adventure Supply when we were up here. In fact we ended up turning the parking lot at the beach into a showroom on more than one occasion. Some folks had reached out to see the product in person, and others just happened to be there with their trucks while we were showing off what all we can hide in the gear tunnel.

For us, the beauty of vacationing in Stinson is that while you're there, you feel very far away from home. Most of the time, the cell phones don't work and the internet is painfully slow. But, it's actually less than 25 miles back to our home and workshop. So today, the day after the Fourth of July, Matthew left foggy Stinson Beach and drove back to the city to send out some of your orders, and prepare some product to be shipped out and picked up next week.

Many thanks to all of you who've helped us get to this First Anniversary. We've had so much fun making cool stuff for these amazing vehicles! You can't see the Under Seat Storage Cover in the photo of our pup Pedals, but she's comfy in the back with the seats folded forward because it's there! Matthew just sent off another new product to be prototyped. We think you're going to love it! Stay tuned!
